When Veoneer Canada Inc., located in Markham, Ontario, contacted us, they were experiencing safety issues around their surface mounted automatic loaders. The location of the automatic loaders was such that their doors opened onto the main aisles. These alleys are frequented by both pedestrians and light machines, such as train drivers. This was a safety risk for truck operators, who turned their backs on potential traffic.
“I am happy that we were able to resolve this issue. The projections are excellent.”
Fatima Fonseca - Industrial Engineer at Veoneer Canada Inc.
After analyzing this challenge, it was determined that visual (safety) areas should be created around automatic loaders when they are in use. Laserglow proposed using line projection lasers and virtual panels that would only be activated when the autoloader doors were opened.
Asked about the effectiveness of the proposed solution, Fatima Fonseca, Industrial Engineer at Veoneer Canada Inc. said, “I am happy that we were able to solve this problem. The projections are superb. Atul Garg, Vice President of Operations at Laserglow, said, “I am happy that we were able to help Veoneer Canada create virtual safety zones and mitigate the impact of these areas on the environment.
